One of the perks of living in Silicon Valley is the plethora of fun summer events. It’s the perfect time to get outside, enjoy the sunshine, good food, drinks and quality time with friends and family. Here is a list of some of our favorite local events in Sunnyvale and surrounding cities in Silicon Valley. Let us know what you think!

Boogie Music Festival 2019
May 19th, 2019
10:00 am – 6:00 pm
Between E Campbell Ave and N 1st St, Campbell
Cost: Free
Come join us for the 41st annual Boogie Music Festival! This is one of Downtown Campbell’s biggest events with over 50,000+ people in attendance every year for two days jam-packed of arts, crafts, entertainment, shopping, food and family friendly fun. Boogie features over 200 vendor booths, live music from local bands and performers, as well as beer and wine. There’s a Kiddie Korner for the little ones to keep them busy.

Downtown Campbell Free Summer Concert Series
June 20th – August 8th, 2019
6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Orchard City Green
Cost: Free
Brought to you by Kaiser Permanente, this summer concert series starts in mid-June and continues for a full eight weeks with a different band each week! Starting at 6:30 pm and until 8:00 pm on Thursdays, set up your chairs on the lawn in front of the historic Ainsley House and enjoy live music from local favorites.

Note: There’s no event on July 4th, Independence Day.

4th of July Symphony in the Park
July 4th, 2019
11:00 am – 3:30 pm
Oak Meadow Park in Los Gatos
Cost: free
Got no plans for 4th of July? Well, you’re in luck! Presented by the Town of Los Gatos, this patriotic extravaganza takes place in Oak Meadow Park. The kids will love the Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad area with a train, carousel, snack shack and BBQ! There are other activities offered for the little ones including face painting, a photo booth, lawn games and inflatable fun. At 1:30 pm, the San Jose Wind Symphony will play for all; with an introduction from the Mayor of Los Gatos and a Yellow Ribbon Ceremony during the intermission.

Sunnyvale Art & Wine Festival – 45th Annual Event
June 1st and 2nd, 2019
10:00 am – 6:00 pm
Historic Murphy Avenue
Cost: free
One of the best festivals in the Valley, the Sunnyvale Art & Wine Festival is back for it’s 45th year! A great opportunity to kick off the summer season. Located on Historic Murphy Avenue in Sunnyvale, this two-day event features live entertainment with different quality artist lineups, chances to taste delicious food from vendors, booths to peruse and of course, margaritas, sangria, beer and wine! There are carnival rides for the children to enjoy as well!

38th Annual Juneteenth in the Park Festival
June 15th, 2019
12:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Plaza de Cesár Chávez
Cost: $10 for entry after 1:00 pm and $25 for early entry tickets online
Located in Downtown San Jose at Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park on 194 South Market Street, this 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm event on June 15th is free to attend before 1:00 pm but then tickets are available for $10 apiece. With over 6,000 people at the festival per year, this family-oriented festival provides attendees with music from various artists ranging from Rap/Hip Hop, R&B, Gospel to Jazz. This event also includes food, artwork and crafts of course!

Summer Series Music and Market
June 12th to August 28th, 2019
Wednesdays, 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Historic Murphy Avenue in Downtown Sunnyvale
Cost: free
Starting June 12th through August 18th, this Wednesday evening concert series goes from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Bring your lawn chair and spend these warm summer nights listening to local musicians and bands with your friends and family. Concerts are held on Historic Murphy Avenue with the closing concert located at the Plaza del Sol on Frances & Evelyn.

Also, just a note, this event happens every Wednesday during this time frame except for July 3rd, the day before Independence Day.

Jazz & Beyond
July 6th to August 24th, 2019
Saturdays, 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Historic Murphy Avenue in Downtown Sunnyvale
Running July 6th to August 24th, this unique dining experience transforms Murphy Avenue into one big street cafe where you can enjoy a sit-down dinner with several restaurants to choose from! On Saturdays from 5:30pm – 8:30 pm, their great lineup of local Jazz musicians grace the avenue while onlookers enjoy their favorite meals.

10th Annual Kids Fun Festival
Saturday, August 10th, 2019
10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Cupertino Memorial Park

Cost: free
The Kid’s Fun Festival is back to celebrate a decade of diversity! This multi-cultural event (with over 30,000+ attendees last year!) brings together members of the community to experience and appreciate the ethnic heritages of different parts of the world. This event has free admission and free parking and is one of the largest children’s festivals in the San Francisco Bay Area.
